Our Approach to Treating Eating Disorders

Quality Patient Care

That Is More Cost Effective and an Alternative or Aftercare Approach to Inpatient or Residential Programs

We offer a comprehensive and cost effective approach to treating eating disorders in a shorter length of time so that the patient may move forward and live a productive and healthy life. If the patient is medically stable and meets our criterion for outpatient treatment, our programs are more economically feasible than inpatient or residential programs. However, in some cases it is necessary to be admitted to an inpatient and/or residential facility due to medical instability and we can serve as an aftercare program to continue the road to recovery. Our goal for patients to not be enrolled in long term treatment, but to overcome their eating disorder, depression, anxiety disorder, or obsessive disorder and to foster independence, and emotional and physical well-being.

Every Team Needs a Quarterback

Quality Communication Leads to Quality Patient Care

All treatment programs are clinically coordinated by our treatment team who meet weekly to oversee the patient’s progress. Our clinical staff converse after each session with the other treatment team members to keep them currently updated on the patient’s issues. Although each patient is selectively assigned therapists and dietitians who provide primary care (i.e., the quarterback of the team), treatment is managed by our complete team of professionals. This unique concept enables each patient to receive the more personalized attention from a broad professional prospective. This clinical approach improves the communication process among the treatment team which enhances the quality of the patient care.

Flexible Scheduling

Most patients do not want to disrupt the quality of their lifestyle to be enrolled in our standard outpatient program, intensive outpatient program, or day program. Many of our patients continue to enjoy their career development, academic functioning, or other extracurricular activities. Patients may have the flexibility to schedule some of their appointments so that they can continue to lead exciting lives and pursue their career and/or academic functioning. We realize that patients have a life outside of treatment and we actually encourage them to pursue interests such as traveling or attending camp to see if they are able to apply new coping mechanisms and skills they have learned in treatment. Our program has been designed to offer some of the sessions during the day or evening hours.
